VP Director of External Relations | 2011 – 2012

Ayaka Kurashina

Duties and Job Roles

As Director of External Relations, my main focus is to support VP External in liaising with ASA’s great sponsors, and establish new relationships with other firms. Presently I am reaching out to companies that express enthusiasm in supporting our student organization, as well as provide an extra set of hands in managing events.

About me:

I’m a 3rd year Accounting student, minoring in Psychology. I love hockey! The Vancouver Canucks are and always will be my favorite team, and I also play ball hockey on the weekend. I’m Japanese, but never having lived in Japan, I make up for it by volunteering in the Japanese community.

Most important thing to me:

My loved ones are definitely the most important to me – I’m really lucky to have them.

My happiest moment:

My happiest moment was when I went on a study trip to Japan during high school. I met nine others from North and South America, and funnily enough ended up learning more Spanish than making any dramatic improvements in my Japanese.

Where on the globe do you want to be in 10 years?

I have a good feeling Vancouver will always be my home.

If 2012 actually came true, how would you spend your last day on earth and why?

I would spend an average day, spending time with the people I love most!
