Duties and Job Roles
As the Vice President of Finance, my duties include preparing a detailed budget for the coming year of 2010 to 2011 and reimbursing the members of the ASA for their financial contributions to the club. I am responsible for monitoring the cash flow and making semester adjustments to the budget to ensure that our objectives are financially met. Last but not least, I will act as one of the pillars of the ASA by answering any questions that anyone may have about the club and about accounting in general.
About Me
I am a 4th year BBA student majoring in Accounting. People perceive me as a very approachable individual who is always happy to lend a helping hand. I like to joke around with my friends and relax but when a task is to be completed, I am determined to accomplish the task to the best of my abilities. I was a Bus 254 TA and hope to continue in my last semester at SFU. I am a very analytical person so if I start going in details about my thoughts during a casual conversation, please forgive me!
In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my girlfriend and friends, playing badminton, poker, PS3, and surfing the internet. Also, I like Japanese anime and comics and building things, so anything from gundam models to Ikea furniture is great.
If I could go anywhere in this world, it would be Hawaii because it is a place where you can relax, think about nothing, and just have fun. The idea that there is an all-year Summer in Hawaii intrigues me and I want to see for myself how that is possible!
One of my happiest moments in life is meeting my girlfriend and spending time with her. I know it is corny, but she is the one who has stood by me during my university life through thick and thin and I am very grateful that she is there for me.
Goals I would like to achieve this year are to, first of all, get out of university and start working! Another important goal for me is to learn how to cook since I have been saying that for 3 years but never got around doing it.
My favourite quote is: I don’t remember the exact quote but it is along the lines of: “If you plan to do something, do it with the best of your ability. Otherwise, don’t do it at all.”
